From cultivation to quality control

Vilgain Basmati rice is processed and packaged by a small family business in Italy, which relies on the quality and traceability of its ingredients. Each batch is carefully monitored every step of the way to ensure it meets all the quality requirements. The rice itself is of organic quality and always comes from a harvest of one year.

Brown rice contains all parts of the grain, retaining all important nutrients, especially fibre, minerals, vitamins and unsaturated fatty acids. In contrast, white rice is stripped of its surface layer, losing the richest portion of nutrients.

Suggested use

Cooking instructions: Thoroughly rinse the rice with water. After rinsing, put the rice into a pot and add fresh water. For every cup of rice, use 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Mix 1 teaspoon salt into the water. Cover the pot with a lid and leave on a low/medium heat for 20–25 minutes without peeking or stirring. Then remove from heat and allow the rice to cool for 5 minutes. Gently separate the grains with a fork. Rice is then ready to serve.
