Vilgain Body Butter is an absolutely extraordinary body butter - we've handmade it with only two ingredients sourced from controlled organic farming, plus we've whipped it into a smooth, creamy lather. It can deeply hydrate dry skin, even in places like elbows and heels, for dozens of hours. It's also quickly absorbed, non‑sticky, non‑greasy and suitable for sensitive skin.
The main ingredient is unrefined organic shea butter with nourishing, softening and anti‑ageing properties. This is because it increases the production of collagen, which is behind the skin's youthful appearance. It also promotes healing and regeneration processes and soothes the skin overall. In addition, it has anti‑inflammatory effects.
The second ingredient is organic, cold‑pressed sweet almond oil. It is very gentle, nourishing, moisturizing and full of vitamin E and antioxidants. It is immediately absorbed and does not leave a greasy feeling.
You can apply it all over your body after a shower, gently massaging it into your skin. But you can also use it to make a nourishing, hydrating bath. For best results, use it daily.
In products with a higher percentage of shea butter, small lumps may form. These are stearic acid 'fat crystals' which are the basis for packing in other fast‑setting ingredients. These tiny lumps would not appear if we used stabilisers. We didn't want to do that. So know that the lumps are not a defect, just a natural phenomenon.
