Darjeeling black tea with a delicate and balanced flavour profile is made from the youngest and finest quality leaves of the Camellia sinensis tea plant. These are hand‑picked and carefully sorted for maximum quality and the perfect flavour profile of the resulting tea. Each cup thus has a delicate and balanced taste. Compared to English Breakfast black tea, which is strong and bold, it is the exact opposite.
A gentle processing method
After harvesting in the Darjeeling region of India, the leaves are left to oxidise. This activates the enzymes and changes the colour and flavour. The longer the leaves are oxidised, the darker the resulting tea. After oxidation, the leaves are rolled and dried to remove the water. This process helps to consolidate the flavour and aroma of the tea.
