Vilgain Macadamia nuts are premium quality roasted nuts from the last harvest. Seasoned with selected natural ingredients.
Dry roasting technology means that no additional oil is used during roasting. In addition, roasting at low temperatures for a short period of time reduces the oxidation of unsaturated fats, thus preserving the health benefits.
The nuts come from plantations in Africa from 53 local farmers. The entire harvesting and post‑processing process is handled by one company. Maximum emphasis is placed on ecology and sustainability in production. Thousands of macadamia trees protect the natural topography and waterways of the region, creating ideal conditions for the local animals and also improving the overall health of the soil. The farms and distribution centres also use solar energy as a source of electricity.
You can enjoy the nuts in their natural form, or try the flavoured versions that we have seasoned with just a pinch of quality spices. The nuts themselves then have a subtly sweet delicious buttery taste.
Macadamias are a great source of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which are essential for a wide range of biological processes in the body. Replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats in the diet has been shown to help maintain normal blood cholesterol levels.
Micronutrients don't come in short supply either. Macadamias are rich in B vitamins, magnesium, manganese and copper. Compared to other nuts, they are also high in antioxidants.
You can enjoy the nuts on their own or use them as an ingredient in baking or spreads. They taste great with cheese and grape wine.
