Vilgain Roasted cashews - fresh nuts roasted with hot air
Vilgain Roasted cashews are whole kernels in a roll or kidney shape from Vietnam. They are produced in small batches for maximum freshness. They are gently dry roasted with hot air without the use of oil. This allows them to retain their natural flavour and valuable nutrient content without unnecessarily increasing their calorific value.
Cashews are a rich source of unsaturated fatty acids. Replacing saturated fats in the diet with unsaturated fats has been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels. Together with sunflower seeds, they have the highest magnesium content of any nut or seed. In addition to magnesium, they also replenish our bodies with zinc and copper. The carotenoids contained then have a positive effect on the skin, eyes and other mucous membranes. Cashews also have a calming effect and are good for times when we are nervous and irritable.
Cashews are great on their own, but can also be used in a variety of savoury dishes. For example, you can add them to soups, sauces, meat or salads to create a delicious vegan meal full of healthy fats, vitamins and minerals.
