Deglet Nour, or “date light”, is a premium variety typically originating from Algeria or Tunisia. They are characterized by their amber‑golden to brown skin and, unlike Egyptian Medjool dates, do not have a sticky texture. Their taste is less sweet, with a delicate, smooth profile and subtle honey undertones.
Tunisian gem without annoying pits 🇹🇳
They are harvested in autumn, by hand. Afterwards, they are pitted and packed. They are produced in small batches for maximum freshness. Deglet Nour dates are a source of potassium, magnesium, and B vitamins.
They are suitable as a snack during the day or on the go, in porridge or granola. When blended into a puree, they can also be used as a base for homemade desserts.
