Traditional full‑fat mustard is made from finely ground, non‑fat mustard seeds of white mustard (Sinapis alba) and brown mustard (Brassica juncea). Fat content is an important indicator of quality. The oil found in mustard seeds has a nutritionally favourable composition, as it contains mainly unsaturated fatty acids, including omega‑3. The micronutrients include selenium, magnesium, iron and folic acid.
The Vilgain full‑fat mustard does not contain gluten or synthetic colours. The bright yellow colour of the mustard comes from turmeric. The mustard is free of chemical preservation and its pleasantly pungent taste perfectly complements the taste of meat. It is also suitable for the preparation of salad dressings, sauces or dips.
