Pita Bread is a traditional bread from the Middle East. It has a round shape and is commonly eaten in the form of a stuffed pocket, just cut and filled with ingredients. Traditionally you'll see fillings in the form of kebabs, gyros, falafel or hummus, but it's up to you what you fill your pita with.

Super fine texture

We don't bake Vilgain pita bread with ordinary wheat flour, on the contrary: we have chosen extra nutritious and tasty hard wheat semolina. It is by milling the flour several times that a finer and more uniform texture is created, the gluten is given room to develop more in the flour and this creates a dough that is more elastic and easier to work with.

The pita is baked in a special way without added fat on a stone slab. This ensures even heat distribution, so that the pita is perfectly cooked but not dry. Crispy on the outside but fluffy and soft on the inside.

Ground durum wheat semolina 68,1 %, water, yeast, extra virgin olive oil 1,9 %, salt, natural yeast powder (smooth wheat flour type '0').

Treated with ethyl alcohol.
