Vilgain Sardines in organic extra virgin olive oil - fish packed with protein and omega‑3 fats in premium taste and quality

Vilgain HGT sardines are among the best the sea has to offer. In addition to a distinctive flavor with a subtle sweetness, they will delight you with an arsenal of nutrients essential for a quality life.

First‑class workmanship and premium quality

Fishing takes place in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean near the coasts of Spain and the UK.
After harvesting, the largest pieces go to the family‑run business in La Rioja province, south of Bilbao, Spain. Here the sardines are processed using traditional artisanal techniques and placed in a handy jar already cooked, without head, tail or guts. After the sardines are sliced, only high‑quality Spanish organic olive oil is added to fine‑tune the flavour profile and the extra nutritious, top‑tasting sardines are ready.

A fish rich in nutrients

Sardines are a source of unsaturated fatty acids and, despite their small size, contain up to 0,4 g of EPA and DHA - omega‑3 fatty acids- per 100 g of solids. These are associated with anti‑inflammatory effects and improved cardiovascular health. They are also an excellent source of protein and essential amino acids, particularly lysine, leucine, glutamic acid and others [1].
Sardines are also said to be associated with anti‑inflammatory effects and fighting oxidative stress, thanks to minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc and iron, which are also found in abundance in sardines [2].

Vilgain HGT sardines contain larger, juicier, and tastier pieces than regular sardines in a can from the store and will taste great in salads and sardine sandwiches. If we can advise you, though, don't heat them anymore, or the olive oil will lose all the benefits.

Vilgain Sardines in organic extra virgin olive oil in points:

  • large pieces of sardines in organic olive oil
  • traditional artisanal processing by a family‑run Spanish company
  • packed in a handy jar
  • high content of omega‑3 EPA and DHA
  • high protein content and source of micronutrients
  • great for salads or sandwiches

Super taste and in glass

Popichi is a fact

Very tasty, quality fish and olive oil. Plus it's good that it's in a jar and not canned. Supposedly, the coating on the inside of canned fish releases harmful compounds into the contents of the can.

They really are better than the ones from the store! :)
