Hibiscus Herbal Tea – sweet fruit drink with a slightly acidic colour, rich in antioxidants
Vilgain Hibiscus Herbal Tea - the flowers of a fruity African herb with many health benefits
Dried Sudan hibiscus flowers crushed into small pieces give our tea a mildly sweet taste with a slightly sour tinge. The distinctive red flavour is complemented by fruity notes that evoke the taste of currant juice, but may also remind you of raspberries or rose hips.
The floral jewel of Africa
The only thing you'll find in the package is dried Hibiscus sabdarifa flowers crushed into small pieces. Our hibiscus comes from tropical Nigeria, which is perfect for growing similar plants. This heat‑drenched country in the interior of West Africa has a rich tradition of hibiscus cultivation. Thanks to time‑honoured farming practices and a favourable climate, hibiscus here receives the best natural care.
Digestive support and anti‑inflammatory properties
This traditional drink is known for its cooling effects thanks to its citric acid, malic acid and vitamin C content. Hibiscus offers a number of health benefits such as supporting the digestive tract[1], lowering blood pressure[2] and providing anti‑inflammatory and antibacterial effects[3]. It is also rich in antioxidants that protect the body from damage caused by free radicals.
A refreshing drink
Vilgain Hibiscus tea is also great as an iced drink, ideal for refreshing on hot summer days. Prepare the tea as directed and let it cool. Then pour it into a glass with ice and add a little lemon juice or honey for an extra refreshing taste. It will be your favourite recipe on hot summer days.
100% organic packaging
We pack our teas in a bag made of hard paper and PLA, which is a plant‑based layer of material (90% is stems, leaves, etc.). The packaging is thus environmentally friendly and fully compostable. By having different properties than conventional plastic bags, the zip closure may occasionally tear away from the bag.
