Vilgain Flaxseeds - seeds with high content of omega‑3 and other beneficial substances
Vilgain Flaxseeds are very valuable for the body, especially because of their high content of omega‑3 fatty acids, which are commonly found mainly in fish. α-Linolenic acid, which is a natural component of omega‑3, contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels when consumed at least 2 g per day (about 10 g of seeds).
But flaxseeds have much more to offer. For example, they contain a large amount of soluble and insoluble fibre, which stimulates and supports the proliferation of healthy bacteria in the digestive tract, thereby supporting the gut microbiome and nutrient absorption. This fibre also includes so‑called lignans, which are known for their antioxidant properties. In addition, minerals such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc and potassium are also found in the seeds.
To get the most out of flaxseeds, they should be eaten crushed, ground or chewed thoroughly so that all the substances contained in them are well absorbed in the digestive tract. You can eat them raw, or use them to enrich muesli, porridge, salads, yoghurt, pancakes, dough, or simply any dish to which you want to add extra health benefits.
