Vilgain Hibiscus Herbal Tea - Egyptian Pharaohs Tea

Vilgain Hibiscus tea is derived from the leaves of the Sudanese hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) grown in Egypt, which is also the origin of its name Karkade. The red hibiscus flowers are hand‑picked here, then cleaned and dried in the sun. Egyptian hibiscus tea is generally characterised by a more distinctive colour and flavour.

The slightly sour taste

The flavour profile of hibiscus tea is reminiscent of cranberries, often with a hint of forest berries. It should be drunk flavoured with sugar, honey, mint or citrus, which reduces its acidity. It is therefore suitable as a summer refreshment on hot days.
