Vilgain Basmati Brown Rice BIO – the most noble variety of rice, grown at the foothills of the Himalayas in Pakistan

Basmati is a rice with typically long grains, which has its own distinctive aroma and nutty flavor. Our basmati rice is also of BIO quality and in the brown, "natural" version.

The most noble variety of rice, also known as the "queen of fragrance"

Basmati belongs among the noble varieties of rice, which are grown in the fields at the foothills of the Himalayas in Pakistan. The word basmati translates from Hindi as "queen of fragrance," which perfectly describes this rice variety. You can recognize basmati rice at first glance by its long grains, and also by its distinctive aroma and slightly nutty scent and flavor.

The quality of rice cultivation and subsequent packaging comes first

Vilgain Basmati Rice is processed and then packaged by a small family business in Italy that prides itself on the quality and traceability of its ingredients. Every step of processing, as well as every batch of the final product, is strictly controlled to meet all quality requirements. The rice is of BIO quality, which means it was grown in organic agriculture and always comes from a single year's harvest.

Cooking instructions: Thoroughly rinse the rice with water. After rinsing, put the rice into a pot and add fresh water. For every cup of rice, use 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Mix 1 teaspoon salt into the water. Cover the pot with a lid and leave on a low/medium heat for 20–25 minutes without peeking or stirring. Then remove from heat and allow the rice to cool for 5 minutes. Gently separate the grains with a fork. Rice is then ready to serve.
