Falafel is a Middle Eastern vegetarian dish in the shape of balls. It is made from soaked and ground chickpeas mixed with herbs, spices and often flour to achieve the right consistency. This is then shaped into small balls or patties and usually fried to achieve a crispy outer crust.

Rich in vegetable protein
What would traditional falafel be without chickpeas? Chickpeas, a legume rich in vegetable protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals, make up more than half of the content in our mix. The rest is made up of other ingredients such as rice or amaranth that complement the nutritional and flavour profile of the balls. They are seasoned with a masterfully selected combination of spices that will make your homemade falafel taste like an Arabic restaurant.
Vegan, non‑GMO, gluten‑free 🌾
Vilgain Falafel Mix is a naturally vegan blend with not a grain of gluten or genetically modified ingredients. Thanks to extrusion processing , the mix is instant, so you don't have to soak it beforehand or otherwise process it for long. Extrusion will also increase the availability of nutrients in the food and reduce anti‑nutrients, which can further improve the digestibility and absorption of protein and other nutrients.
20 falafel balls in each pack
One packet (200 g) makes approximately 20 falafel balls, which makes 2‑4 servings. It depends on whether you are going to have falafel as a main dish or just as part of a salad (for example). It tastes great in pita bread, with yoghurt sauce or hummus, sesame paste, vegetables etc. The preparation is extremely quick and easy.

Chickpeas 59 %, corn meal, rice, salt, dried garlic, dried onion, spice mix (coriander, cumin, allspice, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, pepper), amaranth grain.

Instructions for use
- Pour 300 ml of cold water and 2 teaspoons of oil into 200 g of the mixture.
- Mix the dough thoroughly, let stand for 5 minutes.
- Form into balls with wet hands and fry in a deep fryer at 190 - 200 °C until golden.
