Organic Gunpowder Green Tea – fresh, slightly bitter taste, from young tea leaves, contributes to better attention and mood
Vilgain Gunpowder green tea BIO - natural stimulant with bitter taste packed with antioxidants
Temple of Heaven grade Gunpowder green tea is known for its slightly bitter taste with a subtle smoky undertone. Compared to other varieties, it has a medium to strong aroma with a hint of freshly cut grass. It originates from China, where this type of tea has been cultivated and valued for its quality since the 7th century. Temple of Heaven represents a higher grade of this tea, traditionally rolled into tiny balls resembling gunpowder, giving it its name.
Traditional processing for perfect taste
Our Gunpowder requires hand‑harvested young leaves of high quality that hardly undergo oxidation - this is stopped by drying to ensure the leaves retain their distinctive green colour and high essential oil content. While still warm, the leaves are processed by special machines into solid balls that protect their aroma and ensure a long shelf life. This process gives the tea its typical taste.
Less worry, more focus
Green tea is rich in natural substances, including polyphenols, vitamin C, B and K vitamins, minerals such as potassium, magnesium and fluoride, as well as amino acids including arginine and tyrosine. Vitamin C helps to protect cells from oxidative stress. Green tea also naturally contains L‑theanine, which gives it its characteristic flavour and aroma. While it contains slightly less caffeine than black tea or coffee, it still has more than enough of this stimulant to recharge your batteries in the morning and after lunch [1]. The subject of recent research is vitamin C's support for cardiovascular health [2] and L‑theanine's support for mental health [3]. In other words, a cup of green tea can make your day and the day of those around you.
Recommended preparation
