Mackerel is characterized by a more tender and tender meat than tuna, and at the same time full of flavor and intense aroma. As well as the smoky colour, it can also slightly remind you of smoked mackerel from the supermarket.

Gentle processing by a family‑run company

The fish is caught in areas around the coast of Spain and, once caught, travels to the coastal region of La Rioja where it is processed using traditional artisanal techniques by a local business with many years of experience. Finally, the fillets are cut and placed in a glass and covered with extra virgin olive oil to help enhance their flavour.

High in protein and omega‑3

Mackerel is a natural source of omega‑3 fatty acids and complete protein, with 22 g per 100 g of meat. It also provides you with important micronutrients such as potassium, vitamin A, selenium and copper. But it is richest in vitamin B12, which it contains more than 600% of the reference intake value.

In the jar you will find only fish, extra virgin oil and a pinch of salt. No ballast substances or heavy metals. It can be enjoyed both hot and cold and serves as a nutritionally rich snack on toast or toasted baguette.
