Vilgain Organic Brown Basmati Rice – handcrafted fragrant variety from the foothills of the Himalayas
Vilgain Organic Basmati Brown Rice - the most noble variety of rice, grown in the foothills of the Himalayas in Pakistan
Basmati is rice with typical long grains, which have a specific aroma and nutty taste. In addition, our basmati rice is of organic quality and comes in a "natural" brown version.
The driest variety of rice otherwise known as the "queen of aromas"
Basmati is the noblest variety of rice, grown in the fields at the foot of the Himalayas in Pakistan. Thanks to the location, the rice is irrigated directly by water from the glaciers. The word basmati translates from Hindi as 'queen of aroma', which describes this variety of rice perfectly. Basmati rice can be recognised at first glance by its long grains, as well as its specific aroma and slightly nutty smell and taste.
The quality of the rice cultivation and subsequent packaging is paramount
Vilgain Basmati rice is processed and then packaged by a small family‑run company in Italy that prides itself on the quality and traceability of its ingredients. Each step of processing and each batch of the final product is strictly controlled and has to meet all quality requirements. The rice is of organic quality, which means that it has been grown in organic farming and also always comes from one year's harvest.
Brown rice contains many vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals. Some of the most common vitamins in brown rice include vitamins B1, B3 and B6, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and zinc.
